Refinishing the Bed

The bed will be finished by this week! These pictures were taken before the sanding begun when I attempted to use stain remover which obviously didn't work. John has sanded the bed down and put on the first coat of paint. I am getting very excited about this work in progress. John has been working very hard and I cant wait to see how it will look once its all finished. The dresser and bed are going to look great together. We will post pictures of the final product.

After pictures of the Dresser

Like I promised here are the after pictures. Although I will be adding a few more things on top of the dresser this is the completed project. I LOVE IT! The candle holders and candles are from Ikea. I cant say enough how much I love Ikea which is only two short hours away in Orlando. The next project is to sand and paint the bed to match the dresser. Pictures in the future of the bed.

Refinished Dresser

John and I purchased an old dresser from craigslist and we have finally finished the painting and coats of sealant. I think it turned out beautiful!! I will post the before pictures tonight and load up the after pictures tomorrow.

These were the drawer pulls before we attempted to scrub them with a toothbrush and realized we were getting nowhere. Then we used a grinder and TADA all bright and shiny.

I attempted to use a stain remover, however that didnt work which is why the dresser looked like a young child got ahold of chalk. John sanded the entire dresser and drawers by hand and with the sander. I wanted to go a little chic so I (let me rephrase that) we painted the dresser black. More pictures to come! So excited the bedroom is coming together!!
